Between 2005 and 2006, Mexico advanced 19 positions in the international classification of the facilities offered to do business: the place passed 62 to 43, according to the study Doing Business in Mexico 2007 in the World Bank (WB). According to this analysis, the states where it is easier to do business are Aguascalientes, Guanajuato , Nuevo León, Sonora, Campeche and Zacatecas. The openness are impeding states of Mexico, Guerrero, Morelos and Quintana Roo. The Federal District is tenth, but improved its pointer to halve the time to open a business.
For indicators, Aguascalientes and Guanajuato improved the classification by number of days to start a business. Today companies take 12 days to open a business in those states, which places them above even nations such as Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan and Germany. Moreover, Aguascalientes Campeche and are better placed than countries such as Japan, Chile and Brazil in terms of cost to start a business.
The report finds that some states compare well with the world's best, while others need much reform to become globally competitive.
